Haykel Ben mahfoudh

Haykel Ben Mahfoudh, holds a PhD in international humanitarian Law from the University of Carthage, Tunisia.

He is a professor of International Law and International Relations at the Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Sciences of Tunisia and Director of the Center of International and European Law and Euro-Maghreb Relations.

He has extensive expertise in security sector reform, since he served as a United Nations field operations expert, recently in Iraq. He served as Senior Adviser to the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF).

Since 2014, he has been affiliated with the Rafik Hariri Center on the Middle East of the Atlantic Council, a Washington, D.C. based think tank.

He received the “Distinguished Alumnus” award for 2014 from the NESA Centre (NDU – USA).

He is a Fulbright scholar (Lafayette College, P.A. 2001).
