Soukeina Bouraoui
Dr. Bouraoui obtained her doctoral thesis in 1982 on comparative law. She was head of the Civil Law & Criminal Sciences department between 1987 and 1991, and introduced a degree in “Environment” and focused on ‘’Development - Town Planning’’ at the university, which was also a pioneer issue in the Arab and African world.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Tunisian Association of the Criminal Law, the International Association of Economic Law, the International comparative Law of Environment Center, and the International Court of Environment Arbitration
Dr. Bouraoui founded and directed the National Research, Documentation and Information Centre for Women (CREDIF), and is the Executive Director of the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR). She is also a founding member of the International Forum of Mediterranean Women (1992).
Dr. Bouraoui’s areas of expertise are Criminal Law, Civil law, Environment Law and Human Rights, and Gender Justice. She has several scholarly publications of which many focus on Environment and Women rights.
