Neila Chaabane

Dr Neila Chaabane is Professor of public law and Dean of the Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Sciences, University of Carthage. She held the position of Tunisian Secretary of State for Women’s, Children’s and Family Affairs (2014-2015). Responsible for implementing State policy on the promotion of equal rights, economic empowerment of women, the fight against violence, the protection of the most vulnerable, the fight against school drop-out and the promotion of women in rural areas.

She was a member of the National Commission for the Investigation of Corruption and Embezzlement (2011-2012).

She is an alternate member for Tunisia at the European Commission for Democracy through Law, the Venice Commission.
