the Arab Master developed the format and transformed the field study trip into a student-led weeklong As Lebanon has the highest number of refugees per capita and building on the research capacities of the Institute of Political Science at Saint Joseph University, the general theme of the research was “refugees”, and more specifically social cohesion with a focus on employment and its impact on relations between refugees and hosts.The research methods used by students were both quantitative and qualitative: organising 5 focus groups, several interviews and up to 300 surveys with Lebanese Hosts and Syrian Refugees. The preliminary results were presented in front of students, faculty and two organisations working on refugees (JRS and CRS).
